What's inside

Each soft-gel capsule provides krill oil delivering omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) and Coenzyme Q10 in the Ubiquinol form. Krill oil contains omega-3 in phospholipid form rather than the triglyceride form found in standard fish oil. The capsule shell is bovine gelatine and the product contains crustaceans (krill).

Why this combination

Krill oil delivers omega 3 in a different form to standard fish oil. The omega 3 in krill is bound to phospholipids rather than triglycerides, which some research suggests improves absorption. The natural pink colour of krill oil comes from astaxanthin. Adding Ubiquinol Coenzyme Q10 brings together two of the most-taken cardiovascular supplements in one capsule.

How to take

Adults and children aged 11 and over: take 1 soft-gel capsule daily after breakfast. The 30-capsule pack provides a one-month supply. If you take blood-thinning medication or are scheduled for surgery, consult your GP before use. Anyone with a shellfish allergy should not take this product, as krill is a crustacean.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is krill oil different from standard fish oil?
Krill oil is harvested from small crustaceans (Antarctic krill) rather than from fish. The omega 3 in krill is bound to phospholipids, while standard fish oil contains omega 3 in triglyceride form. Krill oil is naturally pink from astaxanthin content. Both deliver EPA and DHA, the omega 3 fatty acids that carry health claims.
Why is Ubiquinol included?
Ubiquinol is the active (reduced) form of Coenzyme Q10. The body needs to convert standard CoQ10 (Ubiquinone) into Ubiquinol before it can be used, and this conversion becomes less efficient with age. Ubiquinol skips the conversion step. CoQ10 and omega 3 are often taken together for cardiovascular support.
Is krill oil sustainable?
Antarctic krill fisheries are regulated under the CCAMLR (Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources) and most certified krill oil suppliers operate under sustainability protocols. Confirm specific sustainability credentials with the manufacturer for the batch you receive.
Can I take Krill Oil with other fish oil supplements?
We don't recommend stacking omega 3 supplements. Krill Oil already provides EPA and DHA in one daily capsule. Adding another fish oil supplement increases total intake without a clear benefit, and excessive omega 3 may interact with blood-thinning medications.
Does Krill Oil have any allergens?
Yes. Krill Oil contains crustaceans (krill is a crustacean), which is a recognised allergen. Anyone with a shellfish allergy should not take this product. The capsule shell is bovine gelatine, so the product is also not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
