The world-famous Mayo Clinic (USA) defines fibromyalgia as a medical condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues [1]. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way brain and spinal cord process the relevant signals. Symptoms often begin after a traumatic event, such as physical injury, surgery, infection or significant psychological stress. In some cases, symptoms accumulate gradually over time with no single triggering event.
Women are more likely to develop fibromyalgia than are men. Many people who have fibromyalgia also have tension headaches, disorders of the temporomandibular joint (the two joints that connect the lower jaw to the skull), irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression. The primary symptoms of fibromyalgia include widespread pain (often described as “a constant dull ache”), fatigue (even when sleeping for long periods of time) and cognitive difficulties. Fibromyalgia often co-exists with other conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome; chronic fatigue syndrome; interstitial cystitis or painful bladder syndrome; joint disorders; migraine (and other types of headaches); anxiety; and depression.
Importantly, despite potentially disabling body pain, the tissues manifesting pain in fibromyalgia are not physically damaged or deformed and are not accompanied by tissue inflammation. This means that the pathophysiological basis of fibromyalgia is likely to be biochemical. This is exactly why Magnimore Plus promises to be an effective remedy. Magnesium has two main properties that could work against fibromyalgia.
First, it suppresses nerve and nerve-muscle signalling and will do so more effectively in those pain pathways that are over active, as in fibromyalgia. Second, it is necessary for production of energy in our cells, that is synthesis of the main energy-rich compound, adenosine triphosphate (ATP). That will replenish those organs lacking in ATP and overcome fatigue. Magnimore Plus is a combination of 3 different magnesium salts in just the right ratio. The dosages have been adjusted so that the combination can be taken safely to produce optimal effects in the desirable tissues. There are some foods that are rich in basic magnesium, for example nuts (almonds, flaxseed, peanuts, pumpkin seeds), beans, spinach, avocados and dark chocolate [3]. However, rather like vitamin D, we cannot obtain sufficient magnesium through diet and supplementation is essential, hence Magnimore Plus!
